I have a new design out today! Making Tracks is in Issue 222 of The Knitter magazine.

It’s a cabled saddle shoulder jumper worked flat in DK yarn. The cables are inspired by tyre tracks left behind in forests, fields and on beaches.

I am so proud of what my workshop attendees achieved. It was their first time knitting two-colour brioche & they nailed it!

I learnt a lot too as it was the first time I’ve met some who knits left-handed with *everything* mirror image to the usual way of knitting.

My 4-ply version of What Do Points Make? is completed and now needs blocking before sewing two very short side seams. I needed a tiny bit of a fourth colour - top outer corners on the pic.

There are also four wrap and turn short rows to help the edging get around the corners. All of these things are fully explained in the pattern which is both written and charted.

Crenellate was first published in @knitnow in March 2025 and is now out as an individual pattern!

More fun begins with the crenellated garter stitch edging! The shape is created by casting on & casting off. At the end of every RS row you knit the last edging stitch with the next shawl stitch to join the edging to the shawl - they are different colours so it’s easy to tell when to do this.
October 6, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Crenellate is available from my website, Payhip and Ravelry stores.

The pattern is a top-down triangular shawl with a textural design created with knit & purl stitches. Yarn overs increase the stitch count. When you get near the border you add the second colour for some stocking stitch stripes.

Crenellate got quite a lot of attention at Yarndale last weekend!

The subscriber discount period is finished, but the pattern is still available from my website, Ravelry and Payhip.

Crenellate Shawl relaunches as an individual pattern tomorrow morning!

This shawl uses knit and purl stitches for the pattern and yarn overs for the shaping.

It starts with a garter tab (video on my YouTube channel!) and is a relaxing knit. The pattern is charted as well as fully written.
