I recently read Hernan Diaz's Trust and loved it. Muriel Spark was one of the inspirations for the book. I read The Driver's Seat, The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, and Loitering with Intent. All brilliant. The pleasure of reading these stories was increased by seeing their imprint on Diaz--
