This show could be improved so much if they ditched every storyline but Mitsuki’s. Hers is intimate, compelling, and it lends itself well to a lot of goofiness.

It’s also the only one that doesn’t focus on half-baked human drama.

Now this would be an excellent way of using an unreliable narrator - a cult leader telling their own story to aggrandize themselves, that they rose to authority without friction as was preordained.

But, uhh, the episode was playing it straight…

And an honorary mention to the one kid who ran into a helicopter with a live grenade in his hand instead of just, you know, lobbing it inside … like a grenade.

And in episode 5 the answer is: what if we made an elite combat team a bunch of inexperienced morons with personality problems, led by an inconsequential man, and use an abandoned, unsecured base in no man’s land that somehow has perfectly functional hardware.

I feel this. I made an alt acct where I mostly follow serious ppl and lawyers for this purpose. It allowed me to get my main unhooked from all that, made it a happy place. It’s nice that bsky mobile makes it easy to swap accts.
