Starmer is right (he understands the law). For the purposes of the Equality Act, including provision of single sex spaces, trans women are not women. The Supreme Court made that quite clear. When applying the Act, ‘woman’ means female sex, not feminine gender identity.

Yes indeed. Nothing requires new bathroom bans. What bans are you talking about? I’ve not seen any. In this country they’re not called bathrooms or restrooms btw. They are public toilets, and anyone can use them.

Where did I say young people generally would do a worse job than the current generation? I think there are a lot of talented and capable young people. Just not many in the Greens and Zack Polanski is demonstrably unqualified and inexperienced.

There has been a UK Supreme Court ruling that the Equality Act should be applied according to sex, not gender identity. If you want to change the law, campaign for that. The government is simply issuing guidance according to the law as it stands.

If the greens are more likely to win than Labour in my constituency, then yes. Tactical voting has to be on a constituency basis. I support Labour but if I can keep Reform out by voting Green then that’s what I will do.

I think we should all be rattled at the rise of fascim across much of the Western world. Attacking centre left governments plays into the hands of the Right. My view is that all the parties of the left should work together to ensure Reform are kept on the margins. Tactical voting and less bitching.

Russian conscripts are forbidden by law from serving in combat zones. But there are loopholes.

It’s also something straight from the mouth of a Ukrainian I know who lives in the UK but was brought up in Kharkiv. His mother had to be evacuated, and thy lost the family home. He still considers Russians to be his brothers. This war is not as simple as you would like it to be.
