This (cheesy) voter dialer joke is prompting me to share my phone banking life hack with y’all: I do my physical therapy exercises while I wait for the next voter to answer. 💪🏼 ✅

My family uses air quotes when referring to the Mount Baker "transit center" because it seems like such an afterthought for actual riders. Here's my kid at the "transit center" en route to her soccer game on Sunday. City leaders, read @nondriver.bsky.social's brilliant piece and improve this area!

Packed and very late @kingcountymetro.bsky.social buses this am. Kids are late for middle school, Veterans are late for medical appointments, and I’m late for work. We fail our communities when we don’t prioritize public transportation.

We took a King County Metro bus to this trailhead for $2.75 (kids ride free). Bonus: we got to snuggle en route to hiking, instead of stressing our way through traffic. This sort of joyful, public, climate-friendly access to nature should be year-round, in all the places. ❤️

Bus + ferry + lightrail with my 6-year-old adventurer today = joy. After such a painful week, it was healing to be out in the world with community. ❤️

The book “Teach Truth” by my pal @jessehagopian.bsky.social is essential reading for all during these times. Pick up your copy here, and stat: www.haymarketbooks.org/books/2442-t...

My copy of my old pal @jessehagopian.bsky.social’s book came in the mail yesterday. Fitting, crucial day for its arrival. Can’t wait to read it and to see him at Town Hall Seattle tonight (they have virtual tix too!): townhallseattle.org/event/jesse-...

Bus ride home after a great Amtrak train trip to Portland. Loved the buses in PDX, but having to pay fares for youth felt like a bad time warp. So grateful for free youth transit in Washington, courtesy of the Climate Commitment Act. Every state should have #freeyouthtransit!

Tree-gazing + pizza + funny book + Amtrak train = my kid, living the Thanksgiving dream.

Grateful for trains. More, please! ❤️ 🌲🍕🚂 ❤️

Huge thumbs up for the new crosswalks, crosswalk protection, and speed cushions on Seattle’s Lake Washington Blvd, @spottnik.bsky.social! Can’t wait to see this treatment extended to the whole stretch of the Blvd., especially near Mt Baker Beach. Hooray for making this park street safer for all! 🎉

Joy is checking out a book from the downtown branch of the Seattle Public Library and reading it on the bus ride home. 💜

I love how walking to school and work in the rain brings my family right into contact with the natural world and community. Here I am today, walking to work in the rain. Joyfully! ☂️ 💜
