Any #lichen or #fungus enthusiasts here who can tell me what this is?(or which, indeed!) Seems to be fruiting (the little orange hats?) but altogether unfamiliar.. @guyshrubsole.bsky.social is this one in your repertoire?

Feel your pain. You should have tried to travel to Gloucestershire from London last night. Well, obviously you shouldn't. While trains that were even running were "77 minutes late" and worse (love the precision) this was the GWR website!!!

I think this is toothwort - is it a woodland plant? Not sure, but it was growing in some woodland (though possibly on the root of a dead pear, so perhaps it is an abandoned orchard plant?)

Road in the village is flooded - next village has it worse with several buildings flooded. (photo shows the little (!) brook between the two) This is bad enough but what you don't see in the photos is the faint sewagey smell. Not sure our infrastructure is very resilient against climate change 😐
