I had given up on the saffron crocus but it looks like I just wasn't patient enough!
Also, it looks like my inline drip tubing is starting to clog up and fail on like 75% of the emitters. Looks like I'll need to do a lot of work on that this winter.

Dog wandered off while husband was working on the Sequoia. After a frantic search and a hike into the open desert next to the house, she just trots up into the yard wagging her tail happy as can be. I think we need dog gps.

Big ole storm today. It doesn't usually rain in June, let alone something of this caliber. The road is washed out, but the house is ok. Garden is rough -- full of sand the runoff carried in.

In additional bird news: first visit of black headed grosbeak and Bullock's oriole! I heard the oriole yesterday and thought I saw one lurking in the tree, so I put out half of a very ripe pear to see if I could get a better look.

I got a mushroom kit for my birthday this year. It's my first time trying to grow them and it's been hard to balance maintaining humidity with enough air exchange. These guys could have used more air I think. 🍄

Just got a call from my husband that an enormous sand storm was blowing my way. Went outside to make sure nothing could cause any damage in the wind and caught this view.

Anne of Green gables is such a cozy story. I don't think I ever read very far into the series as a kid, so I'm giving them all a listen. Then I'll probably do Emily of New Moon as well.
