Fwiw I have heard similar things about aging dogs, I even knew a couple who would say these sorts of things about their own dog, like ugh we have to care for him? As though life isn't worth preserving if it's too hard? So anyway Percy is 16 and doing great and I don't tell people much about his care

What movie did you see way too young?

Probably more formative than scarring but my dad showed me Akira Kurosawa's Ran when I was four. With its more traditional pacing and a runtime of 162 minutes I have no idea how my dad kept me attentive but I was rapt

Today we had a lovely birthday party for Percy with a few of his favourite people and it was such a fun and silly way to spend the day

I wonder what it is about hanging bunches of things so much. Tassels, wisteria, ribbons, beaded necklaces on a jewellery stand. I took this video of an installation at the Seattle Center in 2019 and I still love to watch it (though it was way better in person)

A baby hummingbird in my yard is now able to fly on their own and came and hung out on one of our feeders for a few minutes the other day. You can see the last tufts of down on their wings!

Thinking about Harry Truman today. In elementary/middle school we visited St. Helens for several weeks long field trips, and on the first one I was so fascinated by everything I saw that the group often moved on without me. An adult chaperone made me this award when we returned home.

Yeah but Triple Triad
A deck of Triple Triad cards from the Final Fantasy Eight game is spread out on a table. Six card faces can be seen: a portrait of Laguna Loire, the Shiva and Carbuncle guardian forces, and three enemies, the Dolmen (giant yellow floaty stone guy with big arms and shoulders), Guira (like a funky manta ray with eyes on its belly), and Invincible (like a jar grew four legs out of its neck and is walking with them). The card titles are in Japanese.

Playing Lost Odyssey for the first time and I am accidentally wearing cat ears to my daughter's funeral as overseen by a Venetian Carnevale guy
