A Florida lawmaker is proposing a federal death sentence for pedophiles. The right has spent years conflating trans folks/drag with pedophilia. Florida has laws on the books equating them. As proposed it seems reasonable enough, but is a big step towards executing trans folks for existing in public.
Trans genocide progresses step by step. This is not the path towards genocide, this is how it actually happens. Bit by bit our humanity is taken away until eventually our very lives are as well.

But the Democrats don't actually want much to change. They represent the status quo and that's why they lost this time around. Everyone is sick for change and Republicans promised it.
You know how everything in the US feels like we're on our heels reacting to an onslaught of government actions?
The Democrats could have come out the gate with that energy in Jan 2021.

This is good news. The EFF is so important, I'm glad they exist.
A federal court has declared that warrantless searches of US person’s communications collected for national security purposes is unconstitutional. Now it’s our job to make sure Congress knows that when they renew this law in a little over a year.
