I think most paid GMing work is online these days though, and apparently like all gig work it's extremely hard, underpaid, and precarious

The last time I was hired to GM was by a rich dude who came into the LGS asking if there was anyone who would run some games for his kids, and the owner pointed him my way (they were cool kids, I was sad to stop)

I have got to say that I've enjoyed the past UKGE events I've attended but if you go down this road you can say goodbye to my money as a punter, my goodwill as a brit in the industry, and my desire to ever interact with you on a professional level. Zero tolerance for slop in this industry.
