I'm not saying Ganondorf is a sympathetic villain in Wind Waker, because he's clearly not. But I genuinely love that tiny hint we get of his backstory and the slightly wistful look on his face here.
It conveys the impression that he wasn't ALWAYS evil. Or at least that he didn't always want to be.
