Utah’s “fast and easy” adoptions are under fire. Agencies like Brighter Adoptions fly in vulnerable birth mothers, offer cash and housing, then pressure them into permanent decisions before they can reconsider. A process that is coercive and irreversible. 🥚

Sources tell Global News he is likely to attend, but Buckingham Palace has not officially accepted &, due to protocol, confirmation would need to be provided by the Palace."

Jonah Bevin has secured a six-month protective order against his adopted father, former Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin.

Jonah, 18, smiled as he left a courtroom in Louisville after a judge approved an order agreed to by the parties.

Really powerful piece of writing on a deeply worrying situation in Tigray
The civil war in Ethiopia’s Tigray region was one of the deadliest of this century. The conflict ended with a ceasefire in November 2022. In Mekelle, Zeywegih Leyti describes the anxiety of waiting for another war.

Adoptees love talking about therapy and mental health but I don’t hear about us talking about how many of us are psychiatric survivors.
March 8, 2025 at 5:39 PM
To me this frequent institutionalization of adoptees of colour esp is deeply connected to racism, ableism and classism…all the isms. 😩
March 8, 2025 at 5:32 PM
I only came back to it because I kept hearing about how many Ethiopian adoptees are dying is suicide and being institutionalized and abandoned in programs.
March 8, 2025 at 5:29 PM
I left the adoptee activism a while ago because I was tired and bored of the same conversations over and over again, with very little concrete action being done to support the most vulnerable in our communities.
March 8, 2025 at 5:27 PM
For all my adoptee followers on here…do consider reading about Jonah’s case. I feel like we don’t take concrete action to support adoptees who are in scary and unsafe situations, esp Black adoptees.
