„This ‚machine‘ needs more than just plugging in!“ - In the 1970s, feminists challenged society's ideas about women's sexuality and pleasure.
I'm looking forward to presenting parts of my research in Hamburg next week and seeing some wonderful colleagues again!
This picture shows a comic printed anonymously in the British feminist newsletter Shrew in 1973. After a list of electronic devices, which the depicted male person imaginatively operates by pressing switches and plugs, the last image shows a female body and a perplexed male face. Underneath it read: "This 'machine' needs more than just plugging in!"
