The grain element = rye #whisky matured in cognac casks
Some of the single malt was matured in red wine casks; some in ex-bourbon

Cracking blended malt from the folk at Dark Sky Spirits / Moffat Distillery. The 3 components are from Mannochmore, Linkwood & Teaninich distilleries. Lovely sherry note coming through but not overwhelming. 46%, UCF, natural colour, 60 quid

Opened this #Invergordon 45 years last week with some pals. Delicious, old single grain #whisky 😋 Invergordon is one of my favourites & this doesn't disappoint.

The new Ardgowan #Distillery in Inverkip is aiming to produce between 750,000 and 1 million litres per year. Interestingly, there's space next to these stills for another pair of stills - meaning output could be doubled in the future.

Huge thanks to @thewhiskywire.bsky.social for sending these drams from @bimberdistillery.bsky.social. No tasting notes - too busy enjoying them. But...
Euston = summer
Liverpool St = winter
Westminister = autumn
Knightsbridge = spring
As tempting as it was, I didn't try all 4 seasons in one day 😋

This is not a beach on Islay. This is my garden in the Scottish Borders. Still a nice place to enjoy this Mac-Talla Amarone release though 😊 Anyone off to Fèis Ìle this weekend?

You'll need to sign up to my newsletter first to get the guide - which, btw, is interesting & not salesy at all 😊

Round Table Reserve - ever heard of it? 🧐
No, me neither 😂
Well, not until I picked up this bottle at auction.
As it was bottled by J & G Grant International Ltd - J & G Grant being owners of #Glenfarclas #Distillery - could this actually be Glenfarclas #whisky? 🥃
April 10, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Have seen this a lot on various social feeds over the last few days so thought I'd jump on the bandwagon 😂

Auchterturra is a fictional village for the comedy show Scotland The What? which ran from 1969 to 1990.
In fact, it's a 21 y/o #Ardmore distilled in 1969. Opened for the Crowdfunders' tastings, this was well received. A bottle most would overlook but this is a #whisky with plenty of history 🥃
