We are nearing the Musk-X tipping point where Spotify users, be they musicians or music lovers, should ask themselves whether they want to carry on having anything to do with Daniel Ek, now one of the biggest investors in Helsing, a Munich-based 'defence tech' company.
Spotify's CEO deciding to invest in an arms manufacturer is, I guess, the polar opposite of what EMI, Decca and Pye were all doing as pop music took off in the UK, funnelling their vast profits from defence contracts during WW2 and Cold War into the Beat Boom.
