I have always had a revulsion to reality TV because it's very clear that the characters have exactly one goal: win.
There's no dimensionality, there's no quandary to navigate, it's simply win the game. All narrative drama happens to this end.
But life, though it is filled with games, has stakes.

Honestly?
This might sound like crank nonsense but I think a large part of why we're in this mess is we're all too willing to discuss issues without mentioning solutions.
It's why I never simply say "people cannot charge at apartments" - that's a political reality, not a practical one.
