New from 404 Media: a hacker targeted a scam call center, broke in, then emailed the scam victims to warn them they’d been scammed. Also stole source code of the scammer’s tools. Here is the email: www.404media.co/hacker-breac...

I really like my new job as Systems Architect. Team, leadership, and projects, everything is great. :D Won't leave there anytime soon. ^^

Finding all the people I followed on Twitter, then Mastodon... all the friends and acquaintances across different platforms from different communities and walks of life. Well, this could take a while. I'd like to be able to put in a list of names/handles and get notified about new people found.

You’ve been murdered. Who do you want on the case?

What fresh hell is this? Preparation to work at some dysfunctional company where every walk to the toilet is a race against the clock? Digitalization, yes, of course. In the US such access systems could save lives, if they slow down a gunman. But to deprive basic necessities - definitely a no-go.
WTF. What is someone supposed to do when they “lose their bathroom privileges.” www.govtech.com/education/k-...

Apparently far right extremists are misusing public bookcases to place propaganda material. Exchange of books is also cultural exchange. They are for everyone no matter their cultural background. Material trying to exclude/divide has no place there. Keep your public bookcases clean of brown stink.
Habt mal ein 👁️ auf die öffentlichen Bücherschränke in eurer Umgebung. Leute drohen damit, ihr Altpapier dort zu verklappen.

For many days I wonder why my feed only shows urban transportation posts. Apparently my view automatically wanders to the first post instead of reading that I selected Urbanism+ above. At that position the blue underline looks more like a part of the page style than a selection. ^^"

If a vehicle can overwhelm another car's technical or structural passenger safety measures, it should be deemed a "dangerous vehicle". Professional truck drivers get specialised training, and their duty times are limited. Similar measures should apply to pick-up trucks etc.

Things I miss in all social media:
An option to block back. The one faster to block shouldn't be the one to decide when to appear in ones messages again.

A note why someone has been blocked. No one can remember everyone.

Some kind of "allow repent". Misunderstandings exist, some people can change.

Got a new job as a Systems Architect! :D I'll now apply my knowledge in the fields of transportation and the environment. Working with new technologies and highly distributed systems. It's the position and growth direction I want. Especially as I'm no longer locked in to a specific tech stack.

Me: "Finally a restaurant where 'spicy' actually means something."
Me, about 10 minutes in: "I can't feel my face... but it's tasty!"
(Still felt my face, but taste was gone due to infernal heat compressed into chilli pepper format between spicy, tasty buns of that vegan burger layer architecture)
Personally I choose not to kinkshame the eaters of the hottest peppers

Like with a similar platform in the past the same thing happens again: I'm here for the diversity of science topics, but drop right into the IT bubble again. I wouldn't be me, if I wouldn't be interested in medicine, astronomy, physics, chemistry, and other things too. Can I somehow adjust my feed?

The fun and difficult thing about software engineering: There are countless paths to a solution. You may find instant answers in one project, and lots of redesigns during the next. Solving novel problems takes time. Design is an iterative process. Scrapping an approach is part of finding a solution.

Still getting used to Bluesky. Some functionalities are rather unintuitive (upload an image, only a part of it is shown?), some core features are missing, and the my feed seems to be mostly one person. But such things need time to be developed and fine-tuned.

A utilized bot can't react to embed-only messages on a Discord server (prob nil content).

Yesternight a server admin had the great inspiration to get my microbotvice architecture idea to work: Asking chat j'ai pété.

It worked as well as my tried and tested approach: It didn't, but probably slower.

Writing cover letters is annoying... especially when one has to write them in different languages. But they cover those skills not mentioned in the CV. Take your time. Show that your goals align with the company's needs. Tell your story. Skills can be taught - but it's hard to change a person.

Hello there, Blueskies. I talk computer language (mainly Go), and like to solve complicated tasks. Broad interest spectrum, but mainly interested in distributed systems, future-oriented smart solutions, and sustainability.
