Had an incredibly enriching four days at the RGCB Research Conference in beautiful Munnar!
The scientific sessions were cutting-edge and a true honor to hear from Nobel laurate, Prof. Morten Meldal. It was also great to catch up with Dhiraj Kumar from ICGEB and Puran Sijwali from CCMB Hyderabad.

Very cool indeed! The mechanism of NET-thrombin binding and the potential for antisense LNA therapy opens up exciting avenues for treating dangerous clots. Great work highlighted here!
Very cool

🧬 Excessive neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) cause dangerous clots, but how?

PNAS: single-stranded DNA (ATTCC)n in NETs DIRECTLY BINDS THROMBIN to fuel immunothrombosis

Targeting repeats with antisense LNAs disrupts NET–thrombin binding

New therapy for dysregulated coagulation??
Tandem ssDNA in neutrophil extracellular traps binds thrombin and regulates immunothrombosis | PNAS
Neutrophils release neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) to neutralize infections, a process that also contributes to immunothrombosis. While bene...

Lithocolic acid identified as key metabolite promoting longevity during CR.
Holy Ponce de Leon!

New in Nature: Administration of a single molecule, the calorie restriction-upregulated metabolite LITHOCHOLIC ACID, confers anti-ageing benefits to mice, Drosophila, and C. elegans in an AMPK-dependent manner
