Seems like a sign of how badly things can go wrong in the US (and get exported to other countries)

I knew I be guy who insisted he sometimes sees stars in the darkened crescent of the moon

Flat out refused to accept my explanation as to why that isn’t possible

They do suck. My mom fell in Oct and got 2 fractures in her pelvis

She only was allowed to weight bear this past Tuesday

Still can’t use shower unaided and even just the toilet is tricky. She’ll be in care home for another week then hopefully in her home after that

It would be so easy to separate people from their money if we didn’t gaf (eg the people who think stars, planets, and planes are drones would certainly pay for a black box that’ll “jam” signals to keep drones away from your house)

Pretty sure this counts as biking in winter :)

Agreed! I can’t get over it. I have so many star pics now

Last year we had 2.5 months of snow and I biked in them anyway

We’ve had nearly 5 months winter in the past. Biked those months too

A dog

Oh yeah, blocked. I hadn’t realized he was still around since his barrage of fa risky wrong posts.

Eg he arrived at a nonsense conclusion because he didn’t know about lake stratification and spring/fall turnover

Based on his pinned comment I see he still hasn’t learned anything. Dishonest as ever

I just found the vertebrate palaeontologist starter pack in your feed. Thank you for posting it

In an alternate timeline I’d have gone into paleo work rather than biology. Both are fascinating

Most fossils I find are “ugly” fossils. Little bits and pieces that I can only guess at most of the time

Still love finding them

When I was in volunteer search and rescue we did a training flight in the Hercules (I was a spotter)

When I got a break from spotting I hit to stand in the cockpit during flight. It was huge and pilots have a good view

I was at the Kluane Arctic Research station for a few years and those grouse sometimes made me think a grizzly was just behind me

One day it was two grizzlies just behind me but mostly it was those “sneaky chickens” as you aptly call them

(were you at Dr Boutin’s squirrel camp?)

They’ve really messed up with that moderation. It’s so bad it’s almost comical. In fact, feels deliberate

When I do find one, it costs money. As kids on bikes, they were always free

I picked this book up last week. I’ve a few spiders I see in my house so I figured I may as well learn their names. Maybe they’ll help with the rent? 🙂
