It doesn't help that game dev has been a space where good advice goes to die for a bit over a decade now. With SEO farm unity tutorials causing generational decay in skilled fields such as optimization being particularly brutalized.

Weirdly happens to most open dev forums. The ones for nsfw devs are the worst though and are a good way to learn all the fun and exiting ways to use and abuse people. Useful for if you want to avoid ever getting screwed over if you can withstand the psychic damage.

The godot subreddit is completely useless. Half of it is armchair devs who make shovelware for quick cash. The other half is "programmers" giving advice that don't know how to program or terrible work life balance tips.
It's a business forum for games as an investment not for actual development/art.

The issue is does not end at capital. it is a basic lack of care for others well being and basic humanity that no amount of rhetoric, only action, can fix. Requiring the bare minimum of solidarity that has not been met up to this point.

Yeah. If you talk to enough artists you quickly realise most of their interactions with communists are either
A. Refusing to pay/trying to haggle commissions due to being "petite bourgeoise"
B. Claiming they shouldn't get paid for art now or in a communist state because art is not real labour

Lot of people in these replies revealing they only get their opinions from qrts and that they actually have 0 nuanced opinion on automated art practices. Just the definition of the word AI. What Aardmann's talking about is also dogshit.

While I do think it should be 100% allowed. I do find it weird that they were surprised this happened. I thought it was well known that even having live action sexual content, even without the kid, is super banned on steam. A guaranteed ban if not at least a AA dev.

Also even if paid with stripe they don't allow nsfw either soooo yeah. It's a crapshoot rn which is why everyone is using other places at the moment that relies on being paid on time

The itch drama with paypros was misrepresented by itch as they actually never had the right to hold nsfw funds so they're still dealing with the fallback for that. It's not run the best and is basically just for free projects

If it's sfw then no itch is awful at releasing things commercially and has multiple unpaid artists in the thousands to tens of thousands rn.
If nsfw if you let itch handle the money you may never see it again as you basically have to handle the payments yourself with stripe to get paid safely.

I only ever heard of him in passing til I watched a video of him “solving” anti-piracy by tying the saves to achievements? Which both doesn't work for anti-piracy AND makes deleting saves to replay impossible. Wasted time of himself and users. A complete lose lose. Like? This is the guy?

It also doesn't help that (especially here in BC) the NDP “strategically” purged the left even without a liberal opposition. The only nice thing being my local area's kicked out socialists went independent and won even then (first time some) and are doing better than ever. So there's that, I guess.

My moment of realization I needed a new pc is when I ran Satisfactory on my 960 i3 6100 dual core at 60 fps. Then they switched to unreal 5 and it was 2 frames no matter what.
I now however have to deal with the fact that it looks like checkerboarded shit in ue5 with my amd gpu lmao. Fuck ue5!
