It was my top played song of 2024. Then I didn’t listen to it for a while and when it came up on my shuffle the other day it stopped me in my tracks and made me cry too. Even after all this time.

original question - I couldn’t imagine coming from a country with such a wildly racialized/colonized history and not be able to acknowledge that colonization had a horrific impact on the people/country. So your time answering these questions is really appreciated.

Poverty, mental illness, substance abuse, imprisonment etc.Some people lacking critical thought see it as a racial issue (they’re lazy…) but for anyone who looks at the historical trauma from being oppressed for 200 years, it makes sense that they’d have challenges after the horrific treatment.
