I only joined the hobby three years after that, so nothing for me in the year 2000 I guess.
In 2003 though: Definitely the space marine box. That one and the minis from the starter set have been the cornerstones of my first army.

Painting minis to have them collect dust on the shelf is a valid part of this hobby. Just saying. That said, it's an incredible mini!
