I think it has something to do with the fact that almost everyone who is working in the opticians here is wearing glasses.

So they actually understand what the patients are experiencing.

Also 99% of their patients are very straightforward cases. So everything is streamlined.

Are they just trying to take credit for something they did 10 years ago by banking on the fact that most Irish people have no idea how immigration or asylum systems work?

Yup. The general awareness of Ireland and Irish history in the UK is quite low. Which in turn makes it easier to spin their version of history.

We unfortunately were the petri dish for their colonial policies. And it continues to this day. Even in their news media.

I remember my first Fitbit had a little barometer to measure air pressure changes to accurately count how many stairs I had climbed.

One day it congratulated me for climbing 50 flights of stairs and seconds later I heard thunder in the distance.

I think that phrase came into existence around the time of the Celtic tiger.

Along with "Property Ladder", they're meaningless marketing phrases.

The left has a similar but different problem which is they can't actually work together on the issues they actually agree on.

Imagine you are basically unelectable.

But if you screw up the nomination process, well, then you get calm that they discriminated against you and you get a bunch of free air time. Best of all, nobody asks you any hard questions.

And you get to talk endlessly about how you're being persecuted.
