It's always a bit nuts to me that the national rail company owns and operates a port that has both passenger services and freight from ships.

But barely any rail services.
I hope this improves in the future but this is still a positive development.

I've never had deep fried turkey.

First time someone told me about it I didn't think that it was real. And I'm still not entirely sure that it is real.

The Irish political system seems to be stuck in this same loop.

I think there is a sorta scientific explanation for it.

People with conservative beliefs tend to believe that more people agree with them than actually do.

So every election cycle we get a new slightly too far to the right party.
I can't believe I'm about to type this, but, McDowell appears to deserve gratitude here
He saw the danger in her, a well funded, divisive campaign resurrecting issues long-settled, &, in the remote chance she won, a council of state stuffed with opus dei, again.

I don't wear suspenders very often but I find they're usually better than a belt for keeping high/natural waisted trousers up.

Especially when your moving around a lot like dancing at a wedding.

And sometimes a dog is just stylish.
why does that dog have suspenders

You know it takes seconds to look this information up right?

Catherine Connolly will be our third female president.

But it's okay it's not like most of us speak the same language and live on neighbouring islands lads. Easy enough mistake to make. I mean we don't even have Wikipedia here I'm sure.
And people say the British press doesn't know anything about Ireland. They got this scoop, didn't they.

I was initially annoyed about the vote spoiling. If those citizens put half as much effort into literally anything else and the world could be a better place.

But this would be hilarious.

"Smear the be-jaysus outta her, you have nothing to lose" turns out to be worse than useless advice.
Called it at 9:13, which is a new record I think. Connolly by 60%+. Spoiled votes may outpoll Heather Humphreys.

I think every country needs a popular pass time that at a certain level of nerdiness requires spreadsheets.

In Ireland it's elections.

If you want to protest peacefully then theres a tram stop less than 10 minutes away from there and you can go into the city centre and protest outside of any number of government buildings.

But no, they just wanted to pelt gardaí and people seeking asylum with bricks.
Some of the projectiles thrown at Gardaí last night.

Rioters threw bricks, ripped from walls at a local estate, as well as fireworks, glass bottles and more at Gardaí.

Somehow a series of popular children's book about a boy wizard has largely escaped any real critical analysis.

They speak to a common secret desire to be special or significant and that you are actually destined for greatness.

Outside of that idea, I don't think the books have much to offer.

This is an eye-watering tax cut that will go directly into the pockets of big chain restaurants. This tax cut would fund the equivalent of building Luas Finglas every year.
It's official. They're giving big restaurant chains a massive tax cut, costing nearly €700m in the #VAT cut to hospitality.

For that kind of money you could:
