Yes, and one round trip transcontinental flight (about 1T CO2E) is as bad for the planet as 200 hamburgers (~28 lbs CO2E/lb hamburger). So vegan frequent fliers are really in denial.

COVID was the only YOY decrease in global emissions. I think we are going to see a bigger hit to the global economy than COVID. And the new deal that eventually takes us out of the Trumpcession could (hopefully) a green new deal built on the ashes of the fossil economy.

On the other hand, wrecking the global exonomy will do more to reduce carbon emissions than all of the policies of the Obama and Biden administration combined. Would be better to do it with a just and planned energy transition.

One thing people seem to forget about Geier’s bonkers thimerosol-causes-autism theory is that thimerosol was never in the MMR vaccine, and has not been in any childhood vaccines since 2001, yet autism rates continue to rise. So thimerosol can’t possible have anything to do with autism rates.

Or, at a minimum, each of the ten existing self governing provinces should get individual statehood on the same theory of respect for state sovereignty that underlies US constitutional jurisprudence. Even Canada’s population of 40M would be the equivalent of 6 US States.

I mean, Canada’s land mass is larger than the US, so on the same theory we have both North and South Dakota, Canada should get as many states as the existing US.

Yes, but how about a promise not to provide one democratic vote for the continuing resolution keeping government open without getting Musk out and putting guardrails on Trump? That is the Dems real leverage, and I haven’t heard that promise yet.
