The Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a private corporation chartered by the US gov’t. Exxon Mobil is a private corp chartered by NY State. Trump’s EO directing CPB to stop funding NPR is the equivalent of Governor Hochul issuing an order to XOM to stop pumping fossil fuels out of the ground.

Drives me crazy that the media accepts the whole Trumpist “51st State” framing for a hypothetical annexation of Canada. Violation of sovereignty and international law aside, Canada should be at least ten and arguably 50 US states.

This the reasons Congressional Dems would be crazy to provide a single vote for a CR “avoiding” a government shutdown. Trump’s going to shut down the government anyway. Let the GOP take full blame.
