State legislator in the ND House - representing District 44 (downtown and north Fargo), boy mom, quilter, communications professional.
Gov. Armstrong's budget addresses issues that the Dem-NPL caucus has long worked to solve: behavioral health, affordable housing & property tax relief. We also need to invest more in state employee raises + K12 funding so ND can stay a leader in delivering public services & public education!

Helping people be more engaged in democracy is a huge passion of mine, so I was thrilled to be invited to have a rich conversation about this w/ a group of long-time + new friends ranging from 22-91!

One useful resource for legislative involvement is this LWV guide: www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6fW...

The House & Senate Appropriations Committees participated in a re-entry simulation, learning a bit about the barriers & frustrations that those leaving incarceration face. This exercise will help lawmakers see the value of upcoming proposals to improve our reentry outcomes!

Happy New Year, friends! Wishing you much happiness & good health.

If you set resolutions or goals, consider a new way to be active in our democracy in 2025. Learn who represents you at every level of government. Watch a govt meeting. Email your lawmakers, etc.

It all makes a difference!

It's such an honor to represent District 44 in the ND House for another term. I'm also so excited for Josh Boschee 's new adventures in the Senate and for Austin Foss to join me in the House! We're already working hard on policy ideas for the upcoming session.

Shawn & I were at our favorite theater much of Saturday -- first for a showing of Wicked (AWESOME), then to volunteer usher for the Dueling Pianos show (fun as usual).

If you're not already, become a member of The Fargo Theatre to support this downtown icon.
