Exactly! Generally speaking these same women tend to be far more interesting. They have a creative/entrepreneurial life outside of their relationships.

I'm very sorry that happened to you. Though I haven't ended any friendships, I do tend to keep certain people at arm's length. I've started organising women's only evenings at my house, inviting both girlfriends who are single and those who aren't so tied up with their partner's lives.

It can be very hurtful. Some very close friends, who happened to be neighbours at the time, hosted a dinner party that included multiple couples who are also my friends. They assumed I was invited which wasn't the case. I still remember how weird it felt walking my dog past their house that night.

They don't mean to be unkind but sometimes I feel like I'm only here to provide weekday entertainment for my coupled-up friends. On weekends they evaporate into a world of dinner parties w/ even numbered seating plans, only seeking me out if they find themselves solo on a Saturday night.
