I went for a walk. In thermals and a parka. It wasn’t really necessary. I took off my hat and unzipped my coat by the end. Saw a lovely sunrise. Tho it was hard to get a good view. Here it is from across the local elementary playground.

After a long day and a night of no sleep, I finally got to see my favs on a panel together. We were actually quite close and had seats when most people were standing, but the lighting and angle made for terrible pictures. But I was there. With DT and BP. 💖💖 #LACC

It’s not much to look at, but this hearty lentil/barley stew with some warm spices (ginger, cumin, cloves, nutmeg, turmeric, chili, paprika, fenugreek) is so delicious. It’s a flavor profile like thanksgiving meets shawarma. But just lightly spiced, so it’s not overwhelming.

These are the closest I’ve found. But the colors are pretty meh, they’re really expensive, and the listing says there scented??? No thanks. Dunno what they’re supposed to smell like. Doesn’t say. Plus I wear these for years at a time. Even if the smell fades, nope.

I made a small batch of almond cookies to see if they’d be any good. Literally just almond, sugar, and egg (and extract. I ran out of almond so it’s half almond/half vanilla). They smell like the kind you get in Chinese restaurants. Don’t know what they taste like, family will tell me tomorrow.

Aww it’s been 13 years since I spent the day drunk in Hall H so we could move up every panel to eventually be right by Colin Farrell. I had a thing at the time.

Better tart picture. Family says it’s excellent. The filling is too runny imo but it does taste nice. The tart shell stayed very crisp, amazingly. But I doubt that will last.
