For Zidane, Murase was requested to add spiky hair because it was the new trend for FF heroes, following Cloud and Squall. The blue costume was inspired by the French “Gitanes Bleues” cigarette packs. And guess what? Gitanes is spelled ジタン (jitan) in Japanese, the same as... Zidane 🤯
