I dabble in Little Guys and Big Guys. I draw in MS Paint and Krita, though I do draw ink-style more these days.

A good post from the tumble, esp in regards to anything with art. Studying new concepts and techniques is the most fun when you can do it like a dog chewing and shaking a new toy around until you can rip out the squeaker and run through the house triumphantly going SQUIKSQUIKSQUIKSQUIK

I long for a culture that allows more room for craft and care, where you don't have to race to finish. Where you go off on tangents and explore dead ends. Where ink and paint are allowed time to dry.
Where deadlines allow for reasonable flex, and projects aren't judged on profitability comparisons.

more than "you should play bad games because a maligned game might be good" i would prefer if the positive contrarian dogma was "you should play games that genuinely interest you regardless of what other people think" because holy shit the former leads to a lot of turning your misery into Content

I can't help but feel like we also need to address more the fact that the AI grift, despite being dependent on technology, has nothing to do with innovating technology at all and also depreciates and discredits programmers as well.
It is not advertised around smartness at all. Blatantly so, even!

Its so demeaning to the life of work they put into their art, and it must suck to have to argue that your work is in fact your own.
