Sometimes I get a followup later, telling me that I need to go back and click on the fake link because I haven't completed the real training.

My employer sends out fake phishing emails that look almost exactly like that. When you click, it tells you that you shouldn't have clicked, and sends you to security training instead. They're obviously fake, so I ignore them.

I remember when everyone was making fun of Titanic because it cost $200M and it was over three hours long. It was going to be the biggest flop in years.

I'm sure he's talking about the B-21. Frankly, calling the B-21 an "updated version" of the B-2 is not that bad by Trump standards.

An unnecessary sign in ornate gold script that's actually cheap paper might be the most Trump thing ever.

Why are we allowing any rando to make a phone call and close polling locations that they don't like?

Of course the people making the threats are to blame, but there will always be threats. It's the government response that's really doing the damage.

I wish this were a real option. I had to throw out my family's beautiful Britannica set a few years ago.

Is it because of COVID? I know that the system was still functioning in my hometown as of 2019, but I haven't checked since then.

FWIW, I assumed that the "quote" was the poster's sarcastic paraphrase of a sincere letter. I only realized that it was a direct quote when I clicked on the link and read the letter itself.

If I'm reading this correctly, it looks like they had a human review the AI report, decided that there was no gun... and then sent armed police to arrest the kid anyway? I don't think you can blame AI for such aggressive stupidity in this particular case.

No, that is not what it's going to look like. That's not even the correct side. It's supposed to be on the east side, and it's separated by a long colonnade. They seem to be deliberately refusing to release clear plans, but this is the best angle I could find.

We have a bridge like that, or we did for a while. The little one was privately owned and operated under a contract with the state. When it came time to renew the contract, the owner tried to play hardball, so the state called his bluff and built their own bridge. It looked exactly like this.
