31,697 children in my district are on Medicaid.

Republicans are threatening to rip away this health care just so they can give tax cuts to the richest 1%.

These aren't popular moves. They're unpopular - even Republicans are divided in many cases. No one should be scared to oppose them.

NEWS: Big preliminary injunction from Judge John McConnell in the multistate lawsuit against the OMB grants/loans freeze.

"The Executive’s categorical freeze of appropriated and obligated funds fundamentally undermines the distinct constitutional roles of each branch of our government."

Can Dems have press conferences everyday in various patriotic settings like national parks, WW2 memorials, schools, libraries, etc. to remind people what we stand for? Different speakers can host and all dems can promote *the same presser* that day on social media. Where do we share ideas like this?

Usually when states go to court alleging federal coercion in violation of the 10th Amendment there is not a literal video of the President doing it.
TRUMP: The NCAA has complied immediately. That's good. But I understand Maine -- is the governor of Maine here?

JANET MILLS: Yeah I'm here

TRUMP: Are you not gonna comply?

JM: I'm going to comply with state and federal law

T: You better do it bc you're not gonna get any federal funding at all

Rare coverage: NOT “strategy framed” (doesnt say how this “is bad for Dems” for example) & not an “opinion” piece. Just straight reporting on Trump violating the Constitution and global experts fears for US democracy. Thanks @brendannyhan.bsky.social

This is a constitutional crisis: the President doesn't have the power to cancel funds appropriated by Congress. Also, the math is insane; there is NO way to cut $4B/day by getting rid of "fraud". Cuts of that magnitude will dangerously undermine the core functions of government.

Will a judge block this action as well? The rest of the political system is being incredibly passive. We've seen democracies crumble under this kind of relentless attack. The law is not self-enforcing.
Trump openly defies the law, firing numerous Inspectors General (watchdogs charged with identifying executive branch abuse) without satisfying legal requirements for IG removal www.nytimes.com/2025/01/24/u...

First claiming to redefine the Constitution by executive order, now this - very dangerous

It’s Article II. The Constitution has no “Title II.” Not a thing most DOJ lawyers would get wrong.
