Met my wife when we were doing high school theater together. That was 13 years ago. Married 6 years ago. Just had our first child three weeks ago.

My grandmother has passed down to me one of those cookbooks from her little church in North Carolina. The best are the ones the kids throw in there lol

1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tsp crushed anise seed
zest of 1 orange (around 2 Tbsp)
260g lard

I've always felt it's an interesting way to do the trope though. Like the reason he's a literal chosen one is because of a fluke in the Bene Geserit breeding program, but to the Fremen it's because of "white savior" superstitions implanted thousands of years ago by (again) the Bene Geserit.

My grandfather somehow found a NewsMax channel at my house where we don't have cable. Quickly had to alleviate this issue and put on a football game.

Last but not least, my mother taught me how to cook the bird this year, and it came out really well. Stuffing was nice and not too moist and the bird was perfect. My nana (from whom we inherited cooking duties) still decided to make collard greens because she's the best at it ❤️🍽️🍜

Here are the taters my lovely, 28-week pregnant wife made ❤️. The mashed were creamy and delicious while the sweet potatoes had a pecan brown sugar topping. Usually we would have marshmallow sweet potato casserole, but this was how my wife prefers them (and they were DELICIOUS) 🍜🍽️
