Is that a goal?

Just listened to the audiobook version of All the President’s Men. That was the Washington Post.

Not so long ago he was lauded as the president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, and he even gave a speech at the Goldman environmental awards. At the time, I thought his speech was inspirational although I don’t remember the content now. Why did this awful side remain generally hidden? Worship of fame?
