We spend 4x the money it theoretically would’ve cost us to just provide the service at a loss (if u accept that someone not paying for something you’re doing anyways is ‘costing’ anything) telling people they couldn’t have the service we were providing anyways being presented as a win is strange

We spent 4 bus fares to tell one poor person they needed to pay the bus fare or couldn’t ride.

I am not being hyperbolic. That is the actual math. It’s (at least) a 4:1 cost for benefit; if I accept that fare jumpers even cost WT anything (which I don’t)
