The problem is not merely that porn is “not realistic,” it is that it is an ideological messaging system. Men are not confused about the world because they have been duped by porn. Men have observed porn’s messages about women and their worth, and they agree with them.
I am also increasingly of the opinion that widespread access to pornography has led to a weird time in which men see women in real life through the lens of porn, which is why right wing chuds are convinced all college aged women do is have orgies
there's still a fundamental and deep injustice here in the 'men fear women laughing at them, women fear men killing them' way. but those feelings of social humiliation and being cheated are also real for a lot of young men - and bound up in a lot of entitlement and horrible shit.
