Longest on my TBR pile by association. I bought the sequels and then spent a decade hunting down the first few books in the series. Adolf - Tale of the Twnentieth Century by Osamu Tezuka is a chilling fictionalized tale of the rise of authoritarianism and hatred in Germany and Japan in the 1930s.

I've been trying to detemine why I felt Taehyung's Celine outfit was so appropriate... and then I realized it's because it's a revival of 1920s/1930s style, just like our current political landscape is. Unlike the politics though, I love seeing the fashion come back and worn by AWESOME people.

A few days late, but done my book for Sep. To fit the HYYH theme, I chose a novel about a gay teen with superpowers. It's been in my TBR pile since 2017. It was OK. I'm just personally over the coming-of-age/coming-out genre, but the rest of it was fun - tropey, but enough twists to compensate.

Sometimes you make something just to see if you can...
This is my latest quilting creation. A quilted robe! It turned out pretty well! The goal was practice and learning and I'm pleased with the results.

Back with August's books for the book challenge. I read Vol. 6-7 of Cat+Gamer, which is a very cute manga series about a gamer who ends up adopting a cat and basically game-ifies cat-ownership. It's a cute fluffy quick read.

Yes, it's the end of August and I'm only just now posting my July book (Around the World on Minimum Wage), but that will tell you a little about my review. Done in purposeful style. It's mostly about the stupid shit you could do if you were a white guy in the 1970s/80s. Not really a book for me.

Playing with my antique sewing machine and some antique alternative presser foots that I found at flea market. I think with my current skills, I'll only use the zigzag foot if I want to decorate with an irregular ekg motif.

I finished my book for June! This month I chose Toward Eternity by Anton Hur. A phenominal sci-fi book. It was what I wanted my philosophy of language class to be in uni (rather than boring). A great meditation on humanity, language, music, art, love, and life in the universe.

If anyone is interested in crochet and wants to support a poor person (me!) - I just posted my pattern for the Jack in the Box inspired scarf that I made to celebrate j-hope's recent tour: www.etsy.com/ca/listing/4...

My May book for the challenge (something that takes place in a forest or on an island) was Lumberjanes to the Max vol. 2 - issues 9-17 of the Lumberjanes comics. I bought it probably back in 2018, and it got buried at the very bottom of my TBR pile. A GOOD FUN PRETERNATURAL TIME IN THE FOREST!

I'm going solo photoshoots on this one and have 2:
1. Yoongi - just felt cute and somehow that meant going to a friend's place to cover himself in fine threads and flowers?
2. I know it's "just a JK Calvin Klein ad" -but I have a type, and that type is androgynous babygirl

Finished my April book just in time! "A purple book" was Eastside Hedge Witch by TJ Deschamps. A very fun urban fantasy book/series with an adult protagonist.

Alright, I'm sick of politics, AI, and the world going to shit... here's a photo of Yoongi in a skirt to make myself feel better.

Completed March reading challenge! I used the "school era" theme to read comics that feature teenage heroes in high school. First two vol. of Ms. Marvel and Mark Russell's 12 issues of Wonder Twins. Wonder Twins was by far my favourite, but I already knew I loved Mark Russell's writing going in.

I've been trying to think of something great to post on Yoongi's birthday, and as a result have not posted anything, so, let's just look at and appreciate Yoongi:

Finished The Gospel of Breaking by Jillian Christmas as my book of the month! It's really good! I started bookmarking my favourite poems as I read, but then ran out of bookmarks.

I made a quilted woven shoulder bag out of the fabric left over from my quilting project. T'was fun and I learned things, but it will definitely be a one time project.

Silverlinings of flying across the country to attend a funeral and cry all weekend - I had time to read my January book on the way back. I don't know if BTS Book Club has migrated to BlueSky yet, but TA-DA:
