American who lives in the UK, and yes this is such a game changer. My partner and I rarely use our car (not in London) for various reasons but not needing to drive to a grocery store is definitely one. Have a mini grocery store across the street from our house. So helpful!!

Still just getting started, but I’ve found YouTube videos to be really helpful. Also currently just using a lot of premade templates that I edit and arrange to make what I want. This has worked well for me thus far!

Also, to add. Just a complete lack of acknowledgment of how ChatGPT impacts the environment and the extremely problematic labour practices that are occurring within those spaces that are beyond the production of a calculator.

This! And also, as a pregnant person from the south, pecan waffles (specifically from WaHo). lol

Very true. Was more of curious how it might impact some of my numbers. I’m not a medical professional and it’s my first time being pregnant so it was also like “ahh should I tell” kind of moment 😂

Oh I didn’t see that! I showed up to the blood work and was like “you should probably know I’m pregnant. Can you note that somewhere?” And the woman just looked at me and said “don’t need it” lol

I did this. Thought it was interesting they never asked if I was pregnant even when putting in the date for my last period (which was a casual 3 months ago). Seemed like important information to know but 🤷🏼‍♀️

Last one, Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson. This was a last minute addition and I couldn’t put it down (and my students said the same). Thompson really brings to life the struggles of OCD for a child in a loving and affirming way. Funny, adventurous, and heartwarming. 6/6

Melissa (formerly published as George) by Alex Gino was another beautiful read. This book is probably the oldest of the ones I chose, and the most American for my British students. They (and I) really loved reading Melissa’s journey. 5/6

Another one of my favourites, Thirst by Varsha Bajaj. I learned so much about Mumbai and the water crisis from this book, and adored Minni. Such a great read! 4/6
