My experience with midwives makes me feel gutted that midwifery services are so limited in Nova Scotia.

Nova Scotia needs more midwives. But Nova Scotia also needs midwives in more spaces.

The midwifery team took care of me post partum. Midwives checked my C-section incision. Midwives made sure I was connected to bereavement services. Midwives said my baby's name. Midwives came to my home so I didn't have to sit in waiting rooms with newborns.

Midwifery care was essential to surviving the horror of losing my baby.

The midwifery team checked on me regularly, even when my care was transferred to a maternal fetal medicine specialist.

They told me what to expect. Discussed my mental health.

One of the report recommendations that has been ignored is the need to remove other barriers preventing the legislature from being more representative. When Alexa was elected there was no bathroom for women MLAs. The first change table was added a few yrs ago. Can we do child care next?

FTR I think MLAs should get paid more (but I also think everyone should get paid more). Being independently wealthy should not be a qualification for our political representatives.

Yes. We need more of these, but also in many areas, our sidewalks are too narrow for these machines.

A large part of North End Halifax has to be cleared by hand.

At the end of the day, the issue with sidewalk clearing is mostly a human resources issue and not an equipment issue.
