~150000 daily drivers on the Gardiner stuck in congestion - politicians at all levels leap into action to accelerate construction and fall over each other to talk solutions, a million daily subway riders trapped in slow zones . . . Almost nothing from our politicians.

Isn’t it sad that while our leaders look to strengthen ties with Europe and the EU—which use proportional representation—and move away from the Trump-led USA, which uses first-past-the-post, they still cling to the latter’s democracy-distorting electoral system?

i see much boasting about mark carney's track record working in the central banker, in goldman sachs, in bloomberg.

that, combined with his opposition to the carbon tax and capital gains tax, and all i really see is an old-school liberal leader who is more fiscally conservative than trudeau 🤷

and we all saw the outcome of that attempt to capture the "centre-right" in the US.

this kind of movement does lose more progressive voters to more progressive parties (or to apathy)

good luck to him, but let's maybe not paint him as some kind of progressive/liberal saviour - for he isn't.

i also love that all the renderings show how integrated and natural the buildings look in existing neighbourhoods across canada. not "out of scale"!
Some pretty nice designs in here. Kudos to the consultant team that led the work. The federal government has unveiled its new Housing Design Catalogue with 50 housing designs for rowhouses, fourplexes, sixplexes, and accessory dwelling units www.housingcatalogue.cmhc-schl.gc.ca
