The stars seem fine. If you ever get to look at the night sky with night vision goggles on a moonless night you will be overwhelmed. Hubble took a long exposure of the darkest part of our sky and.. over 99% of the objects in the image aren't stars, they're galaxies.

Quark carry a 3-fold charge called “colour”. Interactions between colour is mediated by gluons. Quarks also carry electrical charge and therefore can interact with photons. 🤓
