The Phaedo, The Timaeus, The Republic, The Parmenides, The Symposium... These texts are vital to knowing the Western Mystical tradition.

Totally agree. I think Plato should be 'compulsory' for Western occultists. It's the backbone of Theurgy and pretty much every mystical tradition west of the Indus Valley, as well as all modern ceremonial magic. Even if you deviate from Plato, you should at the very least know his works.

And like @theurgist.bsky.social said, studying occult philosophy is super important. I'm currently reading through the Iamblichan curriculum of Plato's dialogues. Learning the metaphysical grammar that underpins the majority of Western occultism can only help your practice.
