I love this message and not just for the Diocese of Rome. Hearing someone asked to urgently shape a discreet pastoral approach is almost jarring in our culture and with today's headlines. But that's often where we find Christ - discreetly and quietly meeting us where we are.

You're spot on. It's not a new problem, even if it's being sensationalized at the moment. And thankfully St Paul provides a bit of a better example of what that might look like.

Earnest question here- outside of prayer, how do you think we should respond to Church leaders intertwining faith and American culture when they are this unaware of the harm the cause?

I would encourage you to practice some reflection on when you and your administration veered from the realm of common sense. I'd actually recommend Dan Carlin's podcast of the same name for some dose of reality and what common sense looks like.

JD, common sense political discussions often begin with the presupposition that neither party is quasi-fascist and that both parties have some shred of credibility. Common sense discussions often fail to include topics like invading allies or ignoring genocide while arming the aggressor.
