When I was a Hill staffer in 2009, a Dem trifecta was trying to pass universal healthcare. In response, Senate GOP released a memo detailing all of the tactics they in the minority could use to delay the effort as much as possible. I'm recirculating that 2009 GOP memo here. This is grossly irresponsible reporting by the AP. What’s being offered is not a buyout. The deal is if you agree to resign in September you can continue working remotely until then. There is no buyout or severance.

If you weren’t on Booktok, you don’t really get to have an opinion right now. Many marginalized creators were able to build community there and grow platforms. I now have a publishing imprint, publishing Indigenous books, BCUZ of Booktok. We are all struggling with how to rebuild on other apps.

You express any form of “look at these fools mourning TikTok instead of Democracy,” you are getting instablocked.

Two seconds of critical thinking would tell you that the blocking of the most used third space and speech platform in America is actually part of the death of democracy.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
