Joe really isn’t part of the Cubs though. The Cubs are owned by a trust that is just comprised of the siblings. Pete isn’t involved. Todd isn’t really involved either. It’s mainly just Tom and Laura that run the Cubs from all accounts, if that helps. Doesn’t mean Joe et al isn’t a piece of crap tho.

I ask because I see a need for pitching and can’t rely on half the starting staff. Yes we have another good arm coming up next year, but that’s no guarantee of success with youth, and Steele returning to form from his injury is no guarantee either. Gonna be a rough winter.

Unfortunate the market has turned like crazy with expanding the playoffs. Basically turns the trade deadline into the NFL’s — non existent unless you give up the entire farm. How do you see this playing out over the winter with the bar being set insanely high and with the CBA/lockout looming?
