Even the doctor's office thought they were in network (I asked!) but somehow, it would be my fault for not just instinctively knowing that Cigna was lying to me about someone being in network.

When I asked them to pull up the tool and search for the provider, proving he was listed there, they very sternly informed me that they would make a "one-time exception" and cover the visit, but if it happened again I'd be on the hook.
