Nothing is ever so important to bad SaaS companies as getting the customer to pay them money.
Good companies, by contrast, focus on the user loving the app enough to want to pay them.

Super excited to announce I'll be speaking at NDC Melbourne in April 2025! My talk, Fairytale vs. Narrative: Telling Stories and Making Decisions With Data, is all about the common pitfalls and trapswhen orgs try to make themselves "data-driven" without putting the proper effort in.
I was testing notification positioning a few weeks ago and forgot to remove my sample notification. So this popped up for me five times this morning before I remembered how to unset it.

The WaPo was, is and will continue to be ENTIRELY dependent on the whims of Bezos for survival. It is a fundamental misunderstanding of capitalism to think otherwise.
It is a ROUNDING ERROR on his investments. He would and will always intervene if the cost of not doing so is greater.

Got bit hard by homebrew autouodating MySQL from 8.3 to 9.0. While it’s annoying, I sadly think the relevant XKCDs are API and Workflow, putting the blame squarely on me
