I wish BlueSky was a better place to make connections and feed my interests, instead of a place where I almost only get messaged by scammers and follower farmers, and find that every feed i interact with is either just a new flavor of doomscroll or a space I don’t fit in well.

Sometimes I get the urge to post extra vulnerable or extra stupid stuff here then remember it’s open and not private and then fear any and all eyes on it and immediately delete everything before posting. Probably smart but not exactly the most fun or engaging.

What if I had someone to ride out all of this garbage with? We could watch bad movies and play video games and eat a bunch of junk food and catastrophize everything when we aren’t actively trying to distract ourselves from the hellscape burning around us. Maybe touch butts. That’d be cool.

Dragon Con was great! But EXHAUSTING! Definitely will do some things different if I go back. But glad I went. Wish I had gotten to stay out a bit later in the evenings to grab more drinks with friends and mingle with some nerd ladies. Living that single old geek life. Time to sleep for days!

I’m really thinking about giving up on online dating. And maybe giving up on trying to meet someone in general. The world just doesn’t seem like it’s the best place to grant me that companionship right now (as if it ever has been) and MAN that space is just destroying my self esteem. Rough.

I’ll be attending my very first Dragon Con this year. Anyone with advice or pointers feel free to share them. Will probably be the biggest con I’ve ever attended and haven’t even looked at the schedule or guests yet.
