maybe it's what made 7drl so great for so long

sadly, it was 3 days into 7drl when i realized it had started, and i already had a ton of objectively more important stuff planned for this week. c'est la vie

excited to add e. partly b/c these cliches aren't afaik meaningfully significant to the metroid series, but thanks to indie patterns i can get rid of that example anyway should also prob say "commercial or mass downloaded game" because metroidvania month has a ton of ones

current project doesn't fit the above but it does technically fit
e. female protagonist , which while unstated, at least among indies, may in fact be the fifth metroidvania cliche plot point/device
